I ordered this cabinet and received it very promptly. When putting the cabinet together, I noticed a crack in the side panel. I called the customer service number and was told a replacement would be sent to me. As I continued with the construction of the cabinet I found two more broken pieces. Again, customer service told me replacements would be sent. This all took place in early June. As of this date I have received NO replacement parts. Although, the cabinet is sturdy and certainly fills the need I wanted it for the quality/customer service would prevent me from purchasing from this company again.
Purchased 5 of these to hang in my garage and wanted to organize things. Choose these over the Rubbermaid cabinets due to cost. Overall they were pretty easy to assemble but putting things together that are plastic can sometimes be tricky. Everything basically snaps together and if everything is not perfectly aligned, it can be a little aggravating. However, once you get the hang of things, you can put these together in about 15 minutes plus or minus a few cuss words!
The instructions say you can put 50 lbs on each shelf. This item comes with a shelf and you can use it if you want or you can keep it out if you have tall items you are going to put in this cabinet. However, I would not put 100 lbs (total weight) in these cabinets. I am not worried about these coming off the wall but the bottom shelf will “bow” if you put more than about 30lbs on the bottom shelf let alone 50lbs…..The shelf that you can insert into this cabinet comes with a metal bar to prevent it from “bowing” but not sure why they couldn’t have put in some type of metal bar on the bottom of this cabinet as well to prevent the bottom from bowing when you put heavy items in it. I put in 3, 5-quart jugs of oil in my cabinet and the bottom felt like it would bow if I put in anymore weight than that….my suggestion would be to put lightweight items in the wall cabinets and purchase the base cabinet that goes on the ground for the heavier items.
I ordered two base cabinets and put these immediately under the wall cabinets and it looks nice. I plan on putting the heavy items in these cabinets and just keep the lighter items in the wall cabinets. I think you will get many more years out of these cabinets if you do it this way and you will prevent the cabinets from “bowing” if you limit how much weight you put in these wall cabinets.
When installing these cabinets on the wall, I would keep the bottom of the cabinet about 56 inches (give or take an inch) off the ground. If you decide to put in the base cabinet, its about 36 inches high and that will give you about 20 inches of clearance which is a good distance between the two. Just a heads up on that when putting these on the wall. Hope this helps!!
